Bureau of Aeronautics
- It was responsible for the development, maintenance, operation, and protection of the city's airports: Philadelphia International Airport and North Philadelphia Airport. The Bureau had three administrative units: the Chief's office and those which operated the two airports.
- Agency History
- The Bureau of Aeronautics was created by an appropriation ordinance in December 1945. Under the provisions of the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter, it became the Division of Aviation in the newly-created Department of Commerce beginning in 1952.
