DUTIES:

This is analytical chemistry and research work at the full performance level performing a wide variety of complex assignments related to chemical analysis, planning and technical consultation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Presently employed by the City of Philadelphia with permanent Civil Service status in any department with a Performance Rating of Satisfactory or higher;
  2. and

  3. EDUCATION:
    Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university with major course work in chemistry or chemical engineering;
  4. and

  5. EXPERIENCE:
    Two years of analytical chemistry testing experience, one year of which shall have been above the beginning level;
  6. or

  7. Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Personnel Department which has included completion of a bachelor's degree program as specified above as an educational minimum.

PROJECTED EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

Applicants will be evaluated and scored based upon their training and experience credentials. Applicants will not be asked to appear to take a scheduled examination.


EXAMINATION:

Will be related to the duties of the position and will consist of the following:

ELIGIBLE LISTS:

PROMOTIONAL

Departmental and interdepartmental promotional eligible lists will be established as a result of this examination. An appointment in any department may be made from either one of the above-established promotional lists as deemed appropriate by the appointing authority.
