A Rebuild project

About

Kingsessing Library was renovated in 1999 as part of the "Changing Lives" campaign, which refurbished branches and brought internet service to every library. The library is equipped with:

  • Computers.
  • Printers and photocopiers.
  • Meeting rooms for community use.

Kingsessing Library closed to the public on October 14, 2022 to prepare for construction this winter (2022-2023). For program relocation information click, here.

Project Status: Construction

Kingsessing is undergoing a $7 million renovation that will include:

  • New teen and child reading area
  • New roof, windows, doors
  • Refurbished masonry
  • New elevator
  • New furniture, fixtures and finishes
  • New windows will bring more light into the space
  • New lighting improvements on the exterior and interior
  • HVAC improvements

The Kingsessing Recreation Center is also a Rebuild project site. The Library and Recreation Center are being managed together as a co-located site.
