About

Alain Locke School was designated a City of Philadelphia community school in 2017. 

After extensive outreach and feedback collection led by the community school coordinator and assisted by the community school committee, the following priorities were identified for the school.

Top priorities

  • Expand access to mental health services at Locke and in the community through partnerships and staff training
  • Provide more extended day programming focused on academic supports and student health
  • Establish more employment resources for adults and students

Secondary priorities

  • Expand social and cultural opportunities for students
  • Improve access to healthy food options
  • Establish a place where community members can access basic household and personal care necessities
