What we do
The Office of Special Events (OSE) ensures event organizers have the appropriate permits, licenses, and insurance. As the main contact for all special events, we help groups with event site maps, road closures, and other operational details.
Each year, our office processes more than 1,400 special event applications for festivals, parades, concerts, film productions, and protests.
In collaboration with the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, OSE prepares and responds to requests for proposals for large-scale special events. Those efforts include the:
- Army-Navy Game.
- 2018 NFL Draft.
- 2026 MLB All-Star Game.
- 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Through OSE’s efforts, Philadelphia was named a World Festival & Event City Award recipient by the International Festival & Events Association (IFEA) from 2014–2024.
OSE works closely with the Office of the City Representative.
