The City of Philadelphia is asking businesses, residents, and visitors to help shape the future of outdoor dining. On Tuesday, October 6, two streetery prototypes will be installed at LOVE Park, where the public can see the designs in person and share feedback. When dining outdoors at a Philadelphia restaurant, what would you want your streetery experience to feel like? We want to hear from you.

A streetery is a type of outdoor dining space located in the parking lane permitted on some city streets. As a project under Mayor Parker’s PHL Open for Business Executive Order, the City developed the two streetery prototypes to make it easier for restaurants to install licensed streeteries that meet all applicable requirements.

Once public feedback evaluation is completed, the City plans to make the two streetery prototype designs available for Philadelphia restaurants to download for free. We heard from restaurants that this would be beneficial, and we listened. Restaurants may still choose to develop their own streetery designs for review and approval by the City.

The prototypes are part of Dine Outdoors Philadelphia, the City’s program overseeing outdoor dining in public spaces, including sidewalks and parking lanes. Dine Outdoors Philadelphia includes the rules and initiatives that support outdoor dining while prioritizing public safety, accessibility, and other important aspects of city life.

Visit the prototypes and share your feedback

Starting October 6, 2026, the two prototypes will be on display at LOVE Park in the parking lane near 1501 JFK Boulevard Philadelphia, PA 19102.

Both streeteries will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily.

Check out the food trucks at LOVE Park during weekdays and enjoy a meal in the streeteries!

Residents, visitors, restaurant owners and other members of the public are encouraged to stop by, see the prototypes in person once installed and share feedback on features including:

  • Safety and comfort
  • Appearance and design
  • Seating and layout
  • How the structures fit into the surrounding street and neighborhood

To provide survey feedback, scan the QR code that will be located on site only on the streetery tabletops. Survey responses must be submitted by November 23, 2026.

Participants have the option to enter a drawing for a $50 gift card (must be 18 or older and not a City of Philadelphia employee). Entry into the drawing is not required to complete the survey.

Public feedback will help the City understand what works well and what could be improved. The prototypes will remain at LOVE Park until at least the Thanksgiving holiday.

Outdoor dining is an important part of Philadelphia’s restaurant scene and neighborhood commercial corridors. By developing standard designs and making them available at no cost, the City aims to make the process easier for restaurants while creating outdoor dining spaces that are safe, accessible and welcoming for everyone.
