PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Department of Public Health today reported an additional 11,912 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Philadelphia since last reported on Monday, June 21, 2021. This brings the total number of fully vaccinated Philadelphians to at least 700,603, and the number of Philadelphians with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine to at least 880,060. Currently, 56.4 percent of Philadelphia adults are fully vaccinated, and 70.9 percent of Philadelphia adults have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

The Department of Public Health reports 78 patients with COVID-19 are currently being treated in Philadelphia hospitals, with a total of 16 on ventilators.

In the last two weeks, one percent of COVID-19 tests in Philadelphia have come back positive. Thus far during the pandemic, 144,968 Philadelphians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, and 3,736 have succumbed to the virus. Philadelphia is averaging 24 new cases of COVID-19 per day over the last two weeks.

Public Paint Day for Welcome Back, Philly Ground Mural in Eakins Oval (2451 Benjamin Franklin Parkway) this Saturday from Noon – 3 p.m.: Mural Arts Philadelphia and the City of Philadelphia invite the public to join Mayor Kenney, Jane Golden, and artist Felix St. Fort in painting a 33,000-square foot ground mural to welcome Philly back to things that have been missing over the past sixteen months. Created by Mural Arts Philadelphia Artist Felix St. Fort, Welcome Back, Philly conveys a “new day” concept with a celebratory feel of fireworks over the cityscape and riverfront, depicting people reuniting to once again experience things they have missed. The paint day is free and open to the public and is fun for all ages. Welcome Back, Philly will be completed just before the fourth of July to coincide with the Welcome America fireworks celebration. No formal painting skills required. The artist and a team of assistants will be on hand to show people how to participate. All supplies will be provided.

NOTE FOR MEDIA: Media are encouraged to join around 12:30 p.m. to see VIPs painting and have time to utilize a 50-foot scissor lift that will be on-site (operated by a certified lift operator). This will enable elevated photos of the mural in progress during the paint day opportunity. Photographers with drones are welcome as well.

Vaxx Up Philly! Office of Immigrant Affairs, Philly Counts, and the Department of Public Health will Host a Pop-up Clinic and Resource Fair this Saturday: Residents can get their COVID-19 vaccine for free at this walk-up clinic hosted by the Office of Immigrant Affairs, Philly Counts, and the Department of Public Health on Saturday June 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6201 N. Front Street, #124, Philadelphia, PA 19120. Pfizer vaccine will be administered for people ages 12 and up and Johnson & Johnson for ages 18 and up. Individuals can learn more about City’s services, such as Philly311 and PHL City ID. Multilingual interpreters, volunteers, and staff will be on-site.
