In order to make COVID-19 vaccine easily accessible to all Philadelphians, the Health Department has partnered with a variety of vaccine providers to set up clinics and give out vaccine. In addition to these partner clinics, the City is running mass vaccine clinics that can vaccinate up to 500 people per day in neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia.

Who is eligible to come to a City-run mass vaccine clinic?

All City-run mass vaccine clinics are open to Philadelphia residents only. Residents who meet the Philadelphia Phase 1a and 1b criteria are eligible currently and can be vaccinated. People who do not live in Philadelphia are NOT eligible to come to ANY Philadelphia clinic.

What do you need to go to a City-run mass vaccine clinic?

People who want to be vaccinated at one of the City’s mass vaccine clinics should register their interest by completing the Vaccine Interest form, or by calling 311. Folks who sign up on the Vaccine Interest form will be notified and allowed to set up an appointment when they are eligible.

What should you bring to a City-run mass vaccine clinic?

Everyone who goes to a vaccine clinic in Philadelphia should bring something that confirms they live in Philadelphia. You can use a driver’s license, PHL City ID, or even a piece of mail or utility bill that has your address and name on it. If you need assistance, or help translating, you can bring one person with you to help. Please dress for the weather, as you may have to stand outside.

What about walk-ups? Are they allowed at City-run mass vaccine clinics?

Sometimes, a clinic might have more vaccine than people who have appointments. When this happens, the Health Department works with community organizations and local groups to allow some people to walk-up to the clinic without appointments. These opportunities are extremely limited. It is possible that a clinic will not have any available walk-up spots.

Walk-ups are ONLY possible during the following clinics, and are still only for Philadelphia residents who meet the Philadelphia Phase 1a or 1b eligibility criteria.

How do I get to the City-run mass vaccine clinics?

Vaccine sites are accessible by SEPTA public transit. This web-based map shows all transit routes to the vaccine sites and this static map shows frequent routes to the sites. SEPTA continues to promote safe and healthy travel during the pandemic. Masks are required, and employee-ambassadors will reinforce this mandate and give out free masks as part of the Mask Force Philly program. More information on SEPTA service and COVID-19 can be found at septa.org/covid-19.

Seniors who are at least 65 years of age can always ride free on SEPTA buses, trackless trolleys, Broad Street and Market Frankford lines, and Regional Rail. Individuals under age 65 with a qualifying disability can always ride at half-fare. Eligibility criteria and application information can be found here.

SEPTA has expanded Customized Community Transportation (CCT) for vaccinations. This service is free-of-charge for those who are 65 years of age or older, have a disability or access and functional need, or those who identify ride accommodation needs. SEPTA CCT provides door-to-door service from individuals’ homes, to the vaccination site, and back home after their vaccination. Rides can be scheduled by dialing 3-1-1 and selecting Option 5 between 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Rides must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.

Limited shuttle services are available for communities that have transportation access needs. Shuttle services must be coordinated through a central community organization and requested at least three days in advance. The city is reaching out to community organizations with information about how to organize shuttle services.

For more information about using public transit to get to a community clinic, see this flyer about transportation options.
