PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Department of Public Health today announced 941 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in Philadelphia. That brings the number of confirmed cases to 44,968. In addition, the Department of Public Health also announced 5 new probable cases from rapid antigen tests. Today’s case count represents totals for three days, since new cases were last reported on Friday, October 30.

The Department of Public Health confirmed 3 additional fatalities in Philadelphia. This brings the number of residents who have succumbed to the virus in Philadelphia to 1,878. Of the 1,878 total deaths, 915 (49%) were long-term care facility residents.

No COVID-19 Briefing on Election Day: There is no COVID-19 press briefing scheduled on Tuesday, November 3 due to Election Day. The City will continue to publish daily press releases providing the latest case counts and other critical information.

Access Centers on Election Day: All City Access Centers will be closed tomorrow for Election Day since the School District is closed that day. All participating families were notified last week.

In addition, 34 Access Centers will be closed from Monday, November 2 through Wednesday, November 4 due to voting because these sites serve as polling locations. Three days are needed to have time for deep cleaning before and after voting, as well as installation and removal of voting machines.
