Rebuild is meeting or exceeding ambitious diversity and inclusion targets by putting local small businesses at the heart of its contracting and selection process. This week Rebuild honored 23 small, diverse Philadelphia design and construction firms who completed the Rebuild Ready Program. Rebuild Ready is a free eight-week business boot camp to sharpen skills in:

– Construction Accounting and Financial Management

– Estimating and Bid Preparation

– Payroll and Joint Ventures

– Bonding, Insurance, and Risk

– Construction Law, Contracting, and Dispute Resolution

– Cash Flow Management and Payment

Businesses that completed Rebuild Ready have the skills to compete for work on Rebuild projects, and all City contract opportunities.

At least 30-35% of all Rebuild construction contracts must go to minority businesses, and 15-20% to women owned businesses. At least a quarter of all professional services contracts will go to minorities, and 15-20% to woman-owned firms. Rebuild is meeting or exceeding these participation targets.

Working alongside diverse local businesses, Rebuild offers Philadelphia contractors new pathways to work on major City capital projects.

“Rebuild Ready helped me find new ways to market and grow my business. I look forward to bidding for work on Rebuild projects, and applying what I learned to other City and municipal contract opportunities,” explained Roya Tahari, co-founder and CEO of Tahari Architecture, Inc.

Congratulations to the first cohort of local businesses to complete the Rebuild Ready program.
