The Department of Revenue has unveiled a new, online Philadelphia Beverage Tax (PBT) registered distributors list.

The list includes every distributor –in and outside Philadelphia– who has registered to file and pay PBT. You can search the list by:

  • Business name.
  • Street address or ZIP code.
  • Phone number.

Do you sell sweetened beverages in Philadelphia at retail? If so, you need to buy your sweetened beverages from a registered distributor.

The new list allows delis, restaurants and grocery stores, to:

  • Check if your current distributor is registered; or
  • Find a distributor who will help you stay compliant with the Beverage Tax.

Philadelphia hospitals, schools, nonprofit groups, or anyone else who sells sweetened beverages on premises is also considered a retailer/dealer. It is their responsibility to know if their distributor is registered.

If you choose not to buy from a registered distributor, you can become a registered dealer, and file and pay PBT to the City directly.

Questions about registering as a distributor or dealer can be submitted through the Philadelphia Beverage Tax filing and payment website. Go to https://revenue.phila.gov/, and select “Contact Support” in the lower-right corner of the homepage.
