Thanks to TD Bank, Philly is turning into the “City of Arborly Love” more and more each day! On September 20, we announced that TD Bank will sponsor the TreePhilly Program with a commitment of $1.125 million over the next three years.

The expanded sponsorship includes support of:

  • Parks & Rec’s natural lands restoration work
  • strategic planning
  • street tree planting
  • our yard tree program

This sponsorship will have a great impact on the environmental health of Philadelphia, as it will significantly broaden the reach of TreePhilly’s programming.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell led the announcement, stating, “It’s a great day for Philadelphia and a great day for trees.”

A program of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation in partnership with Fairmount Park Conservancy, TreePhilly has provided thousands of free yard trees to Philadelphia residents since 2012.

TreePhilly’s initiatives work to meet the Office of Sustainability’s Greenworks goal of making sure each Philadelphia neighborhood has at least 30% tree canopy coverage. Creating and caring for urban forests will make the city landscape better for generations to come.
