At the request of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, the staff of the Philadelphia Historical Commission has reviewed the historical development and ongoing preservation initiatives and has developed recommendations to enhance preservation efforts in various Phila2035 Planning Districts. This work further serves to advance the Historical Commission's ongoing effort to survey historic resources throughout the city. Below is a sampling of these memos. As part of the Charter-mandated reorganization of City agencies into the Department of Planning & Development, the Historical Commission moved its offices from City Hall to the 13th floor of the City office building at 1515 Arch Street, also known as One Parkway. The Historical Commission’s new address is:

On October 1, 2012, the Court of Common Pleas reversed the decision of the Board of License & Inspection Review and reinstated the decision of the Philadelphia Historical Commission in the Church of the Assumption, 1123 Spring Garden Street case. Download Decision.
