Adaptive and inclusive recreation programs

Carousel House facilities

The Carousel House has closed for extensive capital repairs. These repairs are necessary to ensure the safety of staff and participants.

Closure details

To serve the Carousel House community during the capital repairs, Parks & Recreation will:
  • Move Carousel House programs and staff to accessible sites.
  • Work with permit holders to relocate permitted activities.

If you have questions about new accessible locations to host programs and permitted activities, please email parksandrecreation@phila.gov.

Over the next year, Parks & Rec and the Rebuild Initiative will begin work on the design of a new facility at Carousel House. It will be a welcoming place for all.

The planning for this multi-million dollar facility will be:
  • Led by a diverse consultant team.
  • Include input from the Carousel House Advisory Council.
  • Engage program participants.
If you have questions or want to take part in the community engagement process for the new Carousel House facility, please email rebuild@phila.gov.
Carousel House programs are being moved to other Parks & Rec sites. See the details on the Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation programs page.
