Protecting Philadelphians' financial health and wellbeing with free, local resources to help manage student loans.
Managing your student loan debt is important and you are not alone. More than 231,000 Philadelphians have student loan debt, and thousands are currently behind on payments. This debt is from loans taken out by a student or a parent and used for college, a trade credential, or vocational school.
The City of Philadelphia wants to help you protect your financial health and wellbeing. The OnePhilly Student Loan Hub is here to provide free resources to help you stay on top of student debt.
Most student loans are borrowed from the federal student loan system, and the federal government is making big changes in 2026. These changes could impact your financial situation in different ways. Connect with us to get help and access to trusted resources.
The Student Loan Hub is a collaboration between the Mayor’s Office of Education, the Office of Community Empowerment & Opportunity, and the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer.

A new federal law will remove important loan repayment options for Direct Parent PLUS loans on July 1, 2026.
