The Parkside Avenue Intersections Improvement Project includes proposed improvements at two intersections along Parkside Avenue: Bryn Mawr and Parkside Avenues and 53rd St and Parkside Avenue. The improvements aim to promote safe and efficient use of the corridor intersections by all users and safer access to nearby parks.
Project Objectives include:
Reduce congestion by improving roadway geometry and lane configurations
Improve safety and operations of intersections by adding traffic calming measures at approaches to reduce speeds
Improve pedestrian accessibility at the intersections
Enhance connectivity to local recreational facilities
Upgrade sidewalks, signage, pavement markings, drainage structures, and street lighting
The Department of Streets is partnering with the Federal Highway Administration and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on this project.
