Mayor Jim Kenney established the Mayor’s Task Force on Eviction Prevention and Response in September 2017. It consisted of 22 appointed members with expertise in housing and landlord tenant issues.

The group gathered input and ideas on eviction prevention and response from over 200 individuals through focus groups, community forums, and stakeholder interviews.

In June 2018, the task force published its findings and recommendations.
