What we do
The Office of Business Growth (OBG) works to address barriers to business participation by creating clear pathways for small, local, and other diverse businesses. to develop, compete, and grow. The office provides a supportive framework that connects businesses to the resources needed to access and succeed in City opportunities.
OBG expands access to capital, technical assistance, and business development programs, while advancing improvements to internal procurement policies and processes. The office leads initiatives such as mentor-protégé programs, loan loss reserve partnerships with CDFIs to support more flexible underwriting, and bonding and insurance support for contractors.
Through these efforts, OBG strengthens business capacity, increases competitiveness, and supports long-term economic growth across Philadelphia.
