Philadelphians voted to add the Philadelphia Commission for Women (PWC) to the Home Rule Charter in 2017. The commission advocates for policies and programs that help empower women and girls.
There are 27 commissioners. The mayor appoints 10 commissioners, and City Council appoints 17 commissioners.
