Solid waste

The Department of Streets picks up trash and recycling across the city. Residents can visit its sanitation convenience centers to get a recycling bin, dispose of hazardous waste, drop off yard waste, and more. The department also educates people about sanitation rules and enforces regulations.

Residential trash and recycling rules

Violators or property owners who do not separate or improperly set out trash and recycling are subject to penalties as provided in the Philadelphia Code and sanitation regulations.

Avoid a fine. Learn more about collection schedules and the residential trash and recycling rules.
