How do I contact License and Inspections (L&I) district offices?
You can visit an L&I district office for information about any violations or permits you may have or to get general help with eCLIPSE. Inspection, Safety, and Compliance (L&I ISC) offices handle building construction and permitting. Quality of Life (L&I QOL) offices handle property and fire code enforcement, business compliance, nuisance, and vacant properties. What day is trash and recycling collected for my home?
Philadelphia collects trash and recycling from eligible homes each week. Your collection day depends on your address and may change during weeks that have City observed holidays. Find your trash and recycling collection day and see a list of City-observed holidays online.
How do I get or renew a Rental License?
In Philadelphia, you need a Rental License before you can rent a living space to someone. You can submit your application to renew or obtain your Rental License online through eCLIPSE or in person at a scheduled appointment with the Permit and License Center. How do I make an appointment with the Permit and License Center?
L&I’s Permit and License Center is where you can go to file permits, licenses, renewals, and certain appeals. You must make an appointment to receive services from the Center. Depending on your needs, virtual or in-person appointments may be available.

How do I find my local police district?
You may need to contact or visit your local police district for information about an incident or attend a community meeting. Philadelphia is divided into police districts that serve different areas of the city. You can look up the police district for your home address or another address on the Philadelphia Police Department’s (PPD) Districs and Division map.
