The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Human Resources (OHR) will connect with residents at hiring events, information sessions, community programs, and neighborhood resource fairs throughout August.
Residents can meet with OHR staff to learn about civil service careers, review current openings, and get help with the application process. OHR will also host City Career Office Hours at Free Library locations and HR Office Hours at Action Centers across Philadelphia.

OHR partners with the City’s Neighborhood Action Centers to provide career information and application assistance in neighborhoods across Philadelphia.
During HR Office Hours, residents can:
- Speak directly with an OHR professional
- Review current civil service job opportunities
- Learn how the City hiring process works
- Get help completing an online application
- Ask questions about qualifications, examinations, residency requirements, and employee benefits
No appointment is required.
Visit the Hiring Bus
The Hiring Bus is OHR’s mobile recruitment center. Equipped with computers and staffed by HR professionals, the bus brings City career information and application assistance directly to neighborhoods across Philadelphia.
Visitors can use the Hiring Bus to:
- Search current civil service job openings
- Learn how the City hiring process works
- Get help creating an account and completing an application
- Speak with OHR staff about qualifications, examinations, and career options
- Apply for City jobs on-site
Community organizations, City departments, elected officials, and event organizers can also request the Hiring Bus for an upcoming hiring fair, resource fair, or neighborhood event. Requests should be submitted in advance and are subject to staff and vehicle availability.
