Boosting our outlook can be as simple as a walk in the park. To prove it, Parks & Rec partnered with CBS3 to bring FREE exercise classes to the heart of Center City. Join us in LOVE Park to get moving and boost your mental health through exercise! 

Join some of Philly’s best fitness instructors in LOVE Park every Wednesday in May for our Mental Reset series. Each week between 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. we will feature a new FREE outdoor exercise class. All events are free, and no advance registration is required. Check out the schedule below! See you in LOVE! 


May 3

Estilo Salsa Dance (4-6 pm)

Come learn the basics of Salsa dancing with Michael Estilo. Michael was raised in both Ecuador and New York City. Michael enjoys teaching everyone from beginners to advanced dancers. Dancing is a great way to improve your mental and physical heath. Let’s dance!

Mt Airy Learning Tree (4-6 pm)

Mt. Airy Learning Tree offers more than 300 affordable classes in the Northwest Philadelphia area. Come take part in one of their fun classes in LOVE Park.

Tai Chi (4-5 pm)

Tai chi is a Chinese martial art that focuses on slower movements, and controlled breathing. It’s great for your mental health, and a lot of fun!

Cardio with Yard Out Fitness (4-6 pm)

Owner Ron Johnson runs an intense boot camp where many of the workout inspirations comes from his having served time in prison.  Ron shares how that challenge has now fueled his motivation to help others.  Come join a low impact aerobics class tailor-made for all fitness levels, or high intensity cardio and calisthenics workout sessions!

F- 45 Fitness (4-6 pm)

F45 training is a mix of circuit and high intensity interval training style workouts geared toward everyday movement for all fitness levels.  F45 specializes in team training where participants can burn up to 750 calories in a 45 minute session!  It is specifically designed to provide a functional full-body workout, and a big boost to your mental health!

African Dance and Hip-Hop Class (5-6PM)

Parks & Rec’s own DaLia Starkey will bring her African Dance and hip-hop inspired exercise class to LOVE Park on May 31. Da’Lia regularly teaches her classes at West Philly’s Conestoga Playground where rec program participants get to enjoy the physical and mental benefits of her classes. For our finale, Da’Lia will be bringing that energy to LOVE Park, and sharing it with you! The 2023 finale is sure to be the best Mental Health Reset Event yet!
