The Philadelphia Department of Revenue is back to offering expanded resident-facing services following a brief pause due to the pandemic. We’re open to the public Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

While we’re happy to accommodate customers who walk in without appointments, we strongly encourage those who can, to continue to take advantage of our services online.

As they’ve been throughout the pandemic, most Revenue services are accessible online or by phone. Whether it is paying your water bills, applying for water or tax assistance, or filing and paying taxes, you can do it online without having to wait in line.

If you must visit the Municipal Services Building (MSB) to receive service in person, we recommend scheduling an appointment before showing up. To guarantee a successful trip to the MSB, please note the following:

  • You must present a valid photo ID—a driver’s license, a passport, or a work ID displaying your face, full legal name, and address should work just fine.
  • Third-party property managers, expediters, or attorneys must provide a notarized letter, signed contract, or Power of Attorney stating they are authorized to conduct business on behalf of a tax or water client.

These documents help us serve you quickly and ensure your appointment goes smoothly. Whether you need to access account information or pay bills, having these documents handy can help you save time and help us safeguard your personal (and account) information.

Please be aware that we may not be able to serve you without proof of identity or the documents listed above. Similarly, customers requesting access to multiple tax or water accounts must provide the correct address of each property before receiving service.

If you need help or have questions about your business taxes, please call 215-686-6600 or 215-686-6442 for Real Estate Tax. For water bill help or payment inquiries, please call 215-685-6300. You can also send an email to revenue@phila.gov.
