PHILADELPHIA – The Streets Department provides an update on trash and recycling collections, announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams. For the week of July 19th, residents should set their materials out on their regular collection day. However, residents may experience delays as the Department continues to adjust it operations to balance increased tonnage and staffing issues. Over the weekend, crews continued to work diligently to catch up on delayed collections and return to an on-time collection schedule.

Residents are reminded they can view and track the status of daily trash and recycling collections online at StreetSmartPHL.phila.gov using the PickupPHL tab. Residents can find out the status of trash and recycling collections on their block by entering their address, which is then geo-coded and pinpointed directly on the map.

Additional web postings are made on phila.gov/streets , social media platforms under the handle @PhilaStreets and on the Nextdoor social site. To avoid collection delays, residents are strongly encouraged to use  Sanitation Convenience Centers that will remain open seven days a week, from Monday through Sunday between the hours of 8AM to 6PM.  Residents are encouraged to be mindful of what is being placed at the curb via our Curb Your Waste Campaign.

The Streets Department apologizes for the inconvenience. We thank residents for being vigilant and for their patience as we work to keep the city clean, green and safe.
