As Rebuild gets to work renovating parks, rec centers, and libraries across the city, the program is growing its pipeline of diverse local design and construction businesses. Since launching in May 2019, 48 local businesses have completed Rebuild Ready, a free business support program to help diverse contractors bid for and win contracts on Rebuild sites.
The 12-14 week course offers small business owners one-on-one guidance to build their back office function and prepare successful bids for City construction projects.
Rebuild Ready businesses develop pre-qualification packets to market themselves to the general contractors and project managers leading Rebuild projects. They get support to obtain City of Philadelphia minority or women-owned business certification, and have access to business mentors.
The program aims to grow the capacity of Philadelphia’s small, diverse, design and construction businesses to work on large scale City projects.
Businesses interested in joining the Summer 2020 Rebuild Ready can apply here. Applications are being accepted until June 5, 2020.
