UPDATE (November 2, 2021):The City’s new tax filing and payment website, the Philadelphia Tax Center, is now live. From now on, please complete online returns and payments for most City business taxes on the new website. Check out our online tax center guide for help getting started and answers to common questions.

You may have noticed that the Department of Revenue’s eFile/ePay website looks a little different. Taxpayers familiar with the previous site shouldn’t worry. Our upgraded version provides the same tax filing and payment services as before.

You can continue using the online portal to both file and pay the Business Income & Receipts Tax (BIRT), Net Profits Tax (NPT), Use and Occupancy Tax (U&O), School Income Tax (SIT), Tobacco, and Wage taxes.

You can also use the site to pay the Amusement, Earnings, Liquor, Hotel, Outdoor Advertising, Parking, Valet Parking, and Vehicle Rental taxes.

As before, the site also helps you get a tax account number, order payment coupons, and more.

If you’ve bookmarked the page in the past, rest assured that it will continue to work. The portal’s web address stays the same: https://ework.phila.gov/revenue.

And if you already have an online account with the City’s eFile/ePay site, you won’t need to create a new account.

The new portal is compatible with all Internet browsers, and works for both PC and Mac users.

Your computer or preferred browser may not have been compatible with eFile/ePay in the past. In that case, you should give our site a new chance!

Last year, the Department of Revenue collected more than 60 percent of tax payments electronically.

We want to increase that number. Online filing and payments cut costs for the City and reduce headaches for taxpayers.

In the future, we’ll be sharing a lot of new “How To” videos about filing and paying your Philadelphia taxes online.

If you don’t have a computer at home, you can use one for FREE at one of 25 KEYSPOT computer labs across Philadelphia. The Free Library of Philadelphia also has computers for public use at many of its locations.
