There’s tons to do at Philly parks and rec centers this weekend! Concerts series are starting up and continuing throughout the city, and there are several chances to have family-friendly fun by the water. The forecast is calling for warm, sunny weather, so be sure to grab sunscreen and enjoy all that Parks & Rec locations have to offer.

Here are our top picks:

Cedar Park Jazz Series

Bring family, neighbors, folding chairs, or a blanket and come out for the 18th Annual Live Jazz Fridays. Enjoy a summer of jazz with both returning faves and new bands, presented by Cedar Park Neighbors. On Friday, June 15, Figurations Quartet will be performing.

Philly Fishing on the Delaware

Join Riverfront North Partnership and celebrate Father’s Day weekend with family and friends for a friendly fishing tournament! This tournament is catch and release only with no entry fee, and all ages are welcome. Prizes will be awarded for: most, largest, smallest, first, and last catch. Licenses are required for adults, and fishing rods will be available on loan while supplies last.

When: Saturday, June 16, 7 a.m.-11 a.m.

Tour: Food Forest and Pollinator Garden

Meet in the lobby of the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center to explore Philadelphia’s free, public tropical plant conservatory and surrounding grounds. We are offering a free tour of the greenhouses and conservatory, followed by a talk with the Penn State Master Gardeners about the site’s ecologically focused pollinator garden and food forest.

Philadelphia Canoe Club Open House

The Philadelphia Canoe Club is hosting an open house that will offer flatwater boat rides, racing, demos, equipment sales, used canoe and kayak sales, food and more. The open house is a great opportunity to sign up for classes before they start for the season, and is free and open to the public.

Brews at Burholme

Continue the Father’s Day celebrations at Northeast Philly’s Burholme Park! Check out Ryerss Museum & Library, then visit the Burholme Park Golf Center for draft beer from Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company, along with snacks and games. The best part: a portion of the proceeds from the event will go back to Burholme Park.
