In Summer 2013, Eakins Oval, eight acres of public space at the base of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, was transformed into Philly’s new “Park on the Parkway” for the first time. Also known as the City of Philadelphia’s “New Shape of Fun,” The Oval featured a wide variety of community programming, ranging from interactive games and activities, to educational programs, to entertainment, food and beverage trucks and much more.
After a series of fashion-themed events in September and fall-themed events in early October, The Oval now presents a series of double feature drive-in movies in conjunction with The Awesome Fest and Enterprise CarShare. In addition to the films, food trucks and servers on roller skates, courtesy of the Philly Roller Girls, will be on site to provide movie snacks. View the lineup of double features and food trucks in our Calendar of Events.
Seating, parking and food trucks open at 6:30 p.m.; first movie starts at 7:30 p.m.
While screenings are free to pedestrians and cyclists, those driving in cars must purchase a ticket
to enter the parking lot. Tickets can only be purchased in advance, online.About The Oval
