Contests

Most PPR contests revolve around a particular artistic medium. Many are facilitated through other PPR programs, like the After School program or Older Adults Centers. Please check this page regularly for current contests.

Art Contest at the Blue Cross Broad Street Run Expo

The many fine artists in our recreational visual arts programs throughout the city create pieces in celebration of the Broad Street Run, its participants, sponsors, workers and volunteers.

Each facility supervisor may submit an unlimited amount of artwork to the district chairperson by April 29, 2013.

Parks & Rec Calendar Contest

Each year Philadelphia Parks & Recreation holds a contest for photographers who would like their digital photos included in the official Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Calendar. Calendars are a wonderful way to remind us of the beauty and importance of Parks and Recreation in Philadelphia throughout the year. Anyone who has taken a digital photo of a Philadelphia Park or Recreation scene is eligible to be published in the Calendar.

• The top 13 photos (1 for the cover!) are professionally printed in a limited edition Calendar and are available for sale in the Fairmount Park Welcome Center‘s LOVE Park Gift Shop in time for the holidays!

• Winning photographers are credited on the calendar with each caption. NO monetary compensation is offered. ALL photos submitted become the property of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. Winning photographers are notified by the Marketing & Promotions Office.

The Fairmount Park Welcome Center is located at 1599 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19102 and is managed in partnership with the Independence Visitors Center Corporation (IVCC). Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., serving tourists, visitors and others with information, tours and tickets four the entire Philadelphia region. The LOVE Shop offers a full line of Philadelphia souvenirs including authentic LOVE Statue reproductions from world famous artist Robert Indiana.
