The Oval is back in 2024! This year, we’re celebrating the Benjamin Franklin Parkway’s future as Philadelphia’s central park.

The Oval is the number one spot to hang out this summer in Philadelphia. It’s always family-friendly with activities for all. This lively gathering place welcomes locals and visitors alike to:

  • Relax in the beer garden.
  • Dine at a selection of food trucks and the Libertee Grounds mobile kitchen.
  • Play a round of all-ages mini golf.
  • Join group wellness and fitness activities.
  • Enjoy cultural performances and movies on Fridays.
  • Dance with your friends at concerts curated by local band SNACKTIME on Saturdays.
  • Bring the kids to family-friendly activities on Sundays.
  • Test your trivia knowledge at Quizzo on Sundays.
  • Explore marketplaces and family festivals on select Saturdays and Sundays.

Hours

The Oval is open Thursdays through Sundays, from July 11 through August 25. Hours vary depending on the day of the week:

  • Thursdays: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Fridays: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saturdays: Noon to 11 p.m.
  • Sundays: Noon to 9 p.m.

All programs are outdoors and may be cancelled during inclement weather. Check the calendar of events and The Oval’s Instagram for the most up-to-date information.

    Friday evenings this summer come to the Oval main stage for Parkway Presents, a program series organized by the Parkway Council celebrating Philadelphia’s diverse and rich cultural scene. 

    This week Guachinangos gets us moving to the beat with Cumbian and Jarocho fusion music.  

    Colombian Cumbia with a Mexican Jarocho flavor, Guachinangos brings artists from diverse cultural backgrounds together. The band’s exciting instrumentation and electrifying stage energy invites anybody to sing and move to the rhythm of the music.

    Seating is not provided, so be sure to bring your own chair or blanket.

    Saturday nights the Oval presents some of the region's most exciting musical artists in a series curated by homegrown, Philly-favorite band SNACKTIME.

    This week Love Club performs.

    About the artist: LOVE CLUB, birthed on the Bowery in New York, is Alex Delany and Constantine Giavos. A non-stop dance spectacle of past and future, Delany and Giavos spin disco and beyond, conjuring up those "4 in the morning" moments of party euphoria with floor-frying forgotten gems, rock n’ roll swank, and exclusive edits.
