Philadelphia Parks & Recreation offers camps year-round, not just in the Summer. Our Neighborhood Day Camps during the summer is our biggest camp initiative, engaging thousands of Philadelphia's youth each year.
Neighborhood Day Camps

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is proud to offer affordable, fun and safe summer programming for children of all ages in neighborhoods throughout the city! Each camp offers arts & crafts, sports, trips, educational activities, games and more.
For ages 5-12, neighborhood Day Camps will be held at over 130 neighborhood playgrounds and recreation centers each year.
Program capacity and fees may vary between sites. Contact your neighborhood Parks & Recreation facility to find out what's available near you.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Summer Art camp is open to all children, ages 8 to 17, who have an interest in art. A recommendation is needed from a teacher, recreation leader or an art instructor.
Campers select either the Sculpture Program, which includes two sessions in sculpture, one in graphics and one in drawing each week; or the Painting Program which includes two sessions in painting, one in graphics and one in drawing each week. Qualified professional artists will provide instructions in Drawing, Graphics, Painting and Sculpture in an outdoor setting.
To provide maximum involvement, each unit is limited to twelve students per teacher.
Breakfast & lunch are provided. Refrigeration is available for campers who prefer to bring their own lunch.
Since the Art Camp is designed for the artistically motivated participant, campers who exhibit little inclination towards the arts will be removed from the roll.
COST
$150 for Three Week Session + $50 registration fee.
$300 for Six Week Session + $50 registration fee.

Intro to the Performing Arts Camp

Intro to the Performing Arts Camp
is designed for those children with an expressed interest in the performing arts. Campers will have the opportunity to take classes in creative movement, drama and music. The campers will also perform in a presentation at the end of the six-week camp.
A fee of $210 for the six week camp includes lunch and a snack. An aftercare service is available until 5:00 p.m. for an additional fee of $30 per week or $150 in advance for all six weeks.

Young Performers Theater Camp

The Young Performers Theater Camp
is for youth, ages 9 to 18, with an expressed interest in theater and related arts. Majors include dance or musical theater. An audition is required in May. The camp is held at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Center (3680 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104). A fee of $320 for the six-week camp includes lunch and a snack. Daily bus service is available for an additional $150. Registration must be completed online.
Golf Camp

Umbria Golf Center

This instructional camp is for beginning golfers and teaches basic skills, rules, etiquette and different types of scoring. Local golf professionals provided by the PGA Philadelphia Section will conduct the driving range clinics. Staff will include local college players and high school players.
Camp consists of several one-week encampments. Program capacity is 35 per encampment. Fee is $60.
Swim for Life Camp

This six-week camp, for ages 9-15, encourages children to participate in aquatics programs, provides a wholesome recreation experience in a safe and healthy environment and teaches participants sportsmanship through physical activity. Camp includes the "Competitive Program" for experienced swimmers and the "Learn To Swim" Program for kids who want to learn how to swim.
The cost for the six-week program is $150. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Registration deadline is June 1st.
Carousel House Day Camp
The program provides a complete day camp experience for mentally disabled campers, as well as mentally disabled campers with physical disabilities. Camp activities include swimming, arts and crafts, music, organized games, trips and special events. We offer three two-week sessions of day camp for participants 6-25 years of age. Program capacity is 30 per encampment.
A fee of $125.00 per encampment includes lunch. Transportation will also provided.
The camp will be held Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
An interview is required for each applicant.
Carousel House Sports Camp
This camp for mentally challenged teens and young adults will provide a medley of sports activities, including: basketball, soccer, swimming, kickball and volleyball. Program capacity is 30 per encampment.
This camp runs between Monday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. An interview is required of all applicants.
$125.00 per encampment includes lunch. Transportation is also provided.
Senior Art Camp
Philadelphia senior artists can enjoy five days exploring visual arts and discovering the pleasure of creative expression in the beautiful Horticulture Center, located at Belmont Avenue and North Horticultural Drive in West Fairmount Park.
This is a great opportunity to experience painting outdoors, a valuable tradition practiced by many great artists. Painting and drawing directly from nature preserves the visual impact and freshness of natural scenery.
Camp features include personalized instruction, basic artist materials, morning coffee, a daily boxed lunch, admission to the Horticulture Center, all culminating in a final day celebration and exhibit!
Participants can receive instruction in acrylic painting (beginner), acrylic painting (intermediate/advanced), watercolors, drawing, sketching or Chinese watercolors. Monday, July 1 we will display and judge the art work produced at the camp.

For ages 11-14, the Out-n-About camp offers young people adventures, exciting challenges, and opportunities to explore new areas in Fairmount Park and outside their neighborhoods.
This day camp will be held in August. Specific days and times will be announced soon.
Summer Adventure Camps
Wissahickon Valley Park and Pennypack Park
A fun-filled week of exploration, games, crafts, and outdoor play. Campers discover the natural world of beautiful Wissahickon Valley Park and Pennypack Park. The summer adventure camps use forest, meadow and creek to foster appreciation of the natural world. Bird watching, fishing, hiking and much more are part of the week’s events.
B OUTSIDE Teen Program

The B OUTSIDE Teen Program is a six-week multi-dimensional outdoor experience for teens ages 13-16. The camp will be held Monday through Thursday, June 24th through August 1st from 9AM-3PM. Trip days may run later. Youth will spend most of their time outdoors in various activities.
The cost for the program is $200. Slots are filled on a first come basis. Applications will be available beginning April 8th.

Young Philadelphians will be taught the basics of the sport of rowing. The cost is $25 per two-week encampment. Breakfast and snack will be provided. Campers must bring their own lunches.
