Ice Rinks

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, in partnership with Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, owns and operates five ice rinks throughout the city. The ice rinks are open to the public seven days a week. Facility schedules can be obtained by contacting the rink of your choice. Programs include ice hockey, ice skating, skating lessons.
Public skating is free at all of our rinks. Please see schedules below for a public skate time near you.

Skate rental and skate sharpening are available for a fee.

Saturday operation for the rinks began on October 6th. Sunday operation for the rinks began on November 4th and will continue through March 17, 2013.

Laura Sims Skate House

A newly converted indoor ice rink in West Philadelphia. The Laura Sims Skate House is open year-round.

Snider Hockey provides free “learn to skate” programs, public skating opportunities, ice hockey instruction and league play.

Rizzo Ice Rink

Rizzo Ice Rink first opened in 1979. In 1985, the staff and advisory council decided to make it their primary mission to provide the youth of South Philly and vicinity with athletic programs designed to foster character development, passing on values, learning sportsmanship, and coming to grips with winning and losing gracefully.

Simons Ice Rink

This rink in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia has been completely reconstructed and fully enclosed, making it operational year-round, thanks to the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation.
