District Programming
Local programming makes up the majority of what the Programs division does. At our more than 140 staffed facilities across the city, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation engages over 280,000 unique visitors each year in structured activities.

Out of School Time Coordination
Out-of-School Time (OST) is defined as a wide range of program offerings for young people that take place before school, after school, on weekends, during the summer and other school breaks.
By offering services such as
After School Programs and
Neighborhood Day Camps, PPR is able to make positive impacts on thousands of youth every day. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is a partner in Philadelphia's OST system, working collectively to coordinate efforts regionally and nationally. These efforts will ultimately result in aligned data and quality standards that will improve the lives of Philadelphia's youth across the city.
Outdoor Recreation
The Specialized Recreation Services group in the Programs Division oversees many departmental initiatives including Older Adult Centers, Summer Food Program, Carousel House and Outdoor Recreation.
