PHILADELPHIA- The Philadelphia Department of Licenses and Inspections, in collaboration with the Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council, will provide free OSHA 10 Safety Training to up to 200 area residents later this month. Philadelphia law now requires everyone working in construction or demolition to complete this training. Two sessions of the training will be offered: one in English and one in Spanish.
“We’re excited to provide this opportunity to help people get and keep construction work, and to learn more about staying safe on the job,” said L&I Commissioner David Perri, “and we thank Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council for going the extra mile so that we can offer OSHA 10 in Spanish as well as in English.”
The 10-hour training will take place over the course of two consecutive Saturdays, August 20th and August 27th. Attendance on both Saturdays is required to complete the training.
Individuals interested in attending the training should visit the L&I website, www.phila.gov/li, and click on the OSHA 10 link under “What’s New” to register online. Online registration is available in English and in Spanish.
