WHAT:
I-Circle, the International City and Urban Regional Collaborative will kick off a two-city tour of the United States on Monday, September 11 in Philadelphia. I-Circle is an initiative started by Dr. Arthur Evans, the former commissioner of the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). The initiative is designed to foster conversation amongst behavioral health leaders from urban cities across the world and improve services to support mental health and well-being within large cities, helping those who live in the cities thrive.
I-Circle chose Philadelphia as one of its stops because of the city’s innovative work in the area of behavioral health. Representatives from behavioral health systems from nine countries, including Australia, Ireland, Canada and Sweden, make up the group of 40 visitors who will spend two days learning about the City of Philadelphia’s work in behavioral health services before traveling to New York City for an additional two days of workshops.
