The five-member, independent Philadelphia Board of Ethics was established by ordinance, approved by voters in May 2006, and installed on November 27, 2006.
The Philadelphia Board of Ethics traces its roots back to 1962, when the Ethics Code was enacted by City Council in response to the recommendations of the 1962 Fordham Report.
