Youth vaping resources

Even though overall tobacco use has gone down, young people still use tobacco products, including e-cigarettes or vapes, at high rates.

In Philadelphia, high school students are more likely to experiment with vapes than with traditional cigarettes. The rise of vaping devices has significantly contributed to youth tobacco use in Philadelphia: in 2023, 38% of youth reported trying e-cigarettes at least once and 19% reported currently using e-cigarettes.

This page provides resources from the Tobacco Policy and Control Program with practical strategies for:

  • Young people who want to become or stay vape- and tobacco-free
  • Educators and professionals working closely with young people
  • Parents and caregivers looking for guidance on how to talk with their children about vaping and tobacco use
