MPORTANT UPDATE: Although the City still collects W2 information, the City of Philadelphia no longer requires companies to submit Form 1099s because that data is available to us through our data sharing agreement with the IRS.
Employers and payroll service providers with 250 or more W-2s must submit them electronically through the Philadelphia Tax Center. W-2s are due on or before the last day of February each year. The City will not accept submissions through FTP, CDs, or any other electronic media.
Employers with fewer than 250 W-2s are strongly encouraged, but not required, to submit electronic files. These employers can mail their W-2s to:
