The School Slow Zone Program works with communities to co-design the traffic calming solutions to address the needs of their neighborhood.
Slow Zones are groups of residential streets with a 20 MPH speed limit and traffic calming improvements. City staff, planners, and engineers work with residents through public engagement meetings and pop-ups in their neighborhood to design and refine the final traffic calming plan. Residents gain a better understanding of engineering decisions and the changes to their streets.
The James Rhoads School Slow Zone is within the school catchment area in the Mill Creek neighborhood.
