The goal of Green2015 is to unite City government and residents to transform 500 acres of empty or underused land in Philadelphia into parks by 2015. The target number of 500 acres of “greened” public space is considered the minimum amount that will advance the city’s objective of becoming more fair, livable, and competitive.
