Child care business materials

The Department of Licenses and Inspections (L&I) licenses family child care providers. L&I works with the Department of Public Health and other City and state partners to make sure that child care centers are safe and properly regulated.

You can apply for a Family Child Care License online. You can also take your application to the Permit and License Center in the Municipal Services Building (MSB) Concourse. Do not mail your application.
