The Division of Safe Neighborhoods supports community programs that address violence in Philadelphia and provide resources to members of the community.
Community Crisis Intervention Program (CCIP)
CCIP combats violence by intervening where the violence is most prevalent. The program uses credible messengers who are products of Philadelphia’s most violent neighborhoods as outreach workers to foster meaningful relationships with people who are at risk of becoming perpetrators as well as law abiding residents. CCIP works to provide those involved in criminal activities with positive alternatives. We respond to neighborhood crisis with mediation and resources and a willingness to support anyone looking for a peaceful alternative.
Pushing Progress Philly (P3)
Pushing Progress Philly (P³) is one of the City’s community violence intervention initiatives. It serves Philadelphia residents ages 18 or older who are resistant to more traditional forms of intervention in neighborhoods most vulnerable to incidents of gun violence.
The P³ program approaches violence prevention through a holistic combination of behavioral health supports, educational resources, employment coaching, and transitional job and housing placement.
