Melissa Long is the director of the Division of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). DHCD develops and preserves affordable housing, strengthens neighborhoods, and empowers residents. She also represents DHCD on the Historical Commission.
Melissa has over 25 years in policy, planning, and fund development experience. Before DHCD, Melissa was the Director of the People’s Emergency Center CDC. She held policy and planning positions at the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority. Melissa served as a consultant for NeighborhoodsNow and The Community Builders.
Melissa has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado. She has a Master of City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University.
In her spare time, Melissa goes hiking and biking.
