The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Human Resources (OHR) is connecting with job seekers throughout October at career fairs, community events, colleges and universities, libraries, and neighborhood locations across Philadelphia and the surrounding region.

Residents can meet with OHR staff to learn about City careers, explore current civil service opportunities, ask questions about the hiring process, and get information about applying for City jobs. October also includes HR Office Hours at Neighborhood Action Centers, City Career Office Hours at Free Library locations, and several opportunities to visit the Hiring Bus.

Visit HR Office Hours at a Neighborhood Action Center

OHR is continuing its partnership with Philadelphia’s Neighborhood Action Centers to make City career information and application assistance more accessible in communities across Philadelphia.

During HR Office Hours, residents can speak directly with an OHR professional to learn about current civil service opportunities, understand the City hiring process, and get help navigating an online application. Residents can also ask questions about qualifications, examinations, residency requirements, employee benefits, and different career paths within City government.

October HR Office Hours will be available at Action Centers 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Several locations will also have the Hiring Bus on site.

No appointment is required.

Visit the Hiring Bus

The Hiring Bus is OHR’s mobile recruitment center. Equipped with computers and staffed by HR professionals, the bus brings City career information and application assistance directly to neighborhoods across Philadelphia.

Visitors can use the Hiring Bus to search current civil service job openings, learn how the City hiring process works, get help creating an account and completing an application, and speak with OHR staff about qualifications, examinations, and career options.

Throughout October, the Hiring Bus will join OHR at select community events and HR Office Hours. Events marked with an asterisk (*) in the schedule below will have the Hiring Bus on site.

Community organizations, City departments, elected officials, and event organizers can also request the Hiring Bus for an upcoming career fair, resource fair, or community event. Requests should be submitted in advance and are subject to staff and vehicle availability.
