Bridge maintenance work to begin Monday, September 14, 2026 with partial closures.

PHILADELPHIA — The Streets Department of Transportation announces the start of bridge repair work on Monday, September 14, 2026. Partial closures will shift vehicle lanes to one half of the bridge, and one sidewalk will remain open. When ready, these partial closures will switch sides of the bridge. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Work is anticipated to be completed by Spring 2027. Construction timelines may be subject to change.

This maintenance work will be managed by StreetsDOT and completed by Loftus Construction Inc. as part of an on-call bridge maintenance contract. StreetsDOT owns and maintains over 350 bridges across Philadelphia. This infrastructure is an essential part of the city’s transportation network and the department’s mission to keep Philadelphia moving.

StreetsDOT asks everyone to help keep work zones safe by slowing down, paying closer attention, and following all detours and directions when traveling near roadwork.
