The summer celebration continues this August as Philadelphia Parks & Recreation invites residents and visitors to The Oval Minifest, a free, family-friendly series taking place on three Saturdays at Eakins Oval (2451 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, 19130) on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. On August 8, 15, and 22, expect three pop-up festival days featuring community programming, local food trucks, interactive activities, and performances for all ages.
After a summer filled with major events, neighborhood festivals, and community gatherings across the city, Philadelphia continues to set the stage for experiences that bring people together. From neighborhood parks to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, The Oval Minifest carries that spirit forward with live entertainment, local vendors, family activities, movie nights, lawn games, and more.

Saturday, August 8, Hip-Hop In The Park Festival
Noon to 9:00p.m.
The series kicks off with the 6th Annual Hip-Hop In The Park Festival, headlined by Philadelphia’s DJ AKTIVE and featuring Hip-Hop artists, live graffiti, dance performances, food vendors, community organizations, and family-friendly activities.
Saturday, August 15, Now + Then Marketplace
Noon to 8:00p.m.
Explore the Now + Then Marketplace: Summer Scorcher Market featuring local artists, makers, and resellers, take part in the Phone-Free Parkway Puzzle Hunt presented by PA Unplugged and Screen Free Philly, and end the night with a free outdoor screening of Project Hail Mary (2026).
Saturday, August 22, Family Fun Day presented by Kith + Kin
1:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.
Families can enjoy soccer activities with Soccer Shots, Family Fun Day presented by Kith + Kin featuring crafts, lawn games, face painting, balloon art, a free book giveaway, and Mister John’s Music, followed by a performance from Philadelphia’s Grupo Sumak and a free outdoor screening of The Incredibles (2004).
