The City of Philadelphia Streets Department of Transportation Announces Overnight Vehicle Closures of the Falls Bridge

One of the bridge’s sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians and people walking their bikes

PHILADELPHIA — The Streets Department of Transportation announces overnight vehicle closures of the Falls Bridge between Falls Road/MLK Drive and Kelly Drive. These closures will occur daily from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following nights:

Monday 7/13 through Friday 7/17, reopening Saturday 7/18 at 5 a.m.
Monday 7/20 through Friday 7/24, reopening Saturday 7/25 at 5 a.m.

One of the sidewalks on the bridge will remain open for pedestrians and people walking their bike to cross.

These closures will enable crews to inspect the bridge structure. This is a prescheduled inspection and will inform the Falls Bridge Rehabilitation project, scheduled to start on-site work fall 2027.
