Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is launching Safe-Her, a free six-part self-defense program for young women. Running from July 9 to August 17, 2026, this completely free initiative is open to ages 12 to 24. It is designed to build confidence, mental well-being, and physical safety.

Participants will learn basic self-defense moves, online safety, and ways to handle dangerous situations. Supported by Mayor Cherelle L. Parker’s youth safety initiative, the program offers a safe, trauma-informed space for teens and young adults to learn practical real-world skills.

Classes run weekly at four city locations. Email the sites below to register or ask questions.
