PHILADELPHIA — The City of Philadelphia continues to plan for the One Philly: Unity Concert for America to take place as scheduled on Saturday, July 4, while closely monitoring weather conditions and developments. The free, rain-or-shine concert is part of the city’s historic celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, and attendees are encouraged to plan ahead for hot weather and take advantage of the many hydration and cooling resources available throughout the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Across city government, departments are working together in the One Philly spirit to support a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience as large crowds are expected throughout the Benjamin Franklin Parkway during Saturday’s celebration.

The One Philly: Unity Concert for America will feature Christina Aguilera, Meek Mill, Jill Scott, The Roots with special guests Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff, Kathy Sledge, State Property, Seal, Infinity Song, and more, with Wanda Sykes serving as host and appearances by Gillie Da King and Wallo267. Following the concert, a spectacular fireworks display over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway will cap off the evening’s celebration.

Stretching nearly a mile along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the event offers a true festival experience, allowing attendees to move throughout the evening, enjoy performances from a variety of viewing areas, relax in shaded green spaces, and take advantage of water misting stations and water refill stations located throughout the venue. Numerous food trucks and other food and beverage vendors will also be available throughout the event, offering a wide variety of refreshments and dining options.

Concertgoers are encouraged to come prepared for the weather. Guests may bring one empty plastic or aluminum water container, up to one liter in size, to refill throughout the evening. Guests may also bring one factory-sealed plastic water bottle, up to one liter, into the event. Empty hydration packs and small handheld umbrellas are also permitted.

Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather, stay hydrated throughout the day, and take advantage of the cooling opportunities available throughout the event.

Gates open at 3 p.m., with performances beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and use public transportation whenever possible.

For those who cannot attend in person, the One Philly: Unity Concert for America will be broadcast locally on NBC10 and streamed nationally on Paramount+, allowing audiences across the Philadelphia region and around the country to be part of this historic celebration.

Before heading to the Parkway, attendees are encouraged to review the city’s One Philly Story Map. The interactive map includes event entrances, performance areas, water misting stations, water refill stations, medical tents, road closures, transportation information, food vendors, and other resources to help residents and visitors plan their experience.
